چکیده
The world's population is growing, which requires more resources, including food. Some necessary foods, such as berries, are very perishable fresh products that suffer contamination by pathogens, generating great economic losses. Various physical and chemical strategies have been used to mitigate these losses over the years, use of pesticides. However, negative impact on environment human health has aroused interest in development other control methods. Biocontrol one innovative strategies, various biological agents can be used, bacteria probiotics. Probiotics act antagonists fungal pathogens competition for space nutrients, production secondary metabolites, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), lytic enzymes, activation plant defenses. On hand, there materials protection against seen, edible coatings, since they components, chitosan, with antimicrobial properties. In addition, probiotics conjunction elements resulting from a new strategy post-harvest diseases. This review compiles studies and/or coatings method reducing diseases, specifically, berries.

Losses from postharvest fruit diseases range from 1 to 20 percent in the United States, depending on the commodity. The application of fungicides to fruits after harvest to reduce decay has been increasingly curtailed by the development of pathogen resistance to many key fungicides, the lack of replacement fungicides, negative public perception regarding the safety of pesticides and consequent ...

Strawberries have a very thin layer coating that easily disappears and are perishables a lot pre-harvest as such nearly 30 to 40 percent of strawberry fruits will be wasted at interval between harvest and consumption. In this study have been investigated the effect of using psyllium mucilage (Plantago psyllium) in concentrations of 6.25, 12.5 and 25 ml/l as well as Arabic gum and Arjan as edibl...
